How can we feel welcome in our school when...the truth is our principal Is not so polite to everyone. Its not a secret our principal is not the best with common courtesy and manners. In a effort to make all students feel welcome shouldn’t the “leader“ of the school not only treat all students with respect but practice proper courtesy and manners. You can’t underestimate the impact of a friendly “hello how are you?” Or even a smile. What about a “your late for class this time you will have to take a tardy, but it’s alright your gonna be just fine.”Maybe a “I’m sorry to see your crying is there anyway we can help?“ and if your really feeling polite maybe a “I know school is stressful, but I hope you have a good day." If that’s too much a please and thank you with a smile works too. The fact of the matter is who’s going to tell the principal hey your kind of rude to people!?No one out of fear of offending him. If the administration truly cares about making all feel welcome, It’s time for the principal to show it! At the end of the day it’s up to us the students to do what our adult ”leaders“ fail to do. So if you happen to be walking next to someone in the hallway or meet a new student in one of your classes extend the common courtesy our principal won’t. Make everyone feel welcome in a school we spend many hours in everyday because we all deserve it!
